Adjacent to the main house, this outbuilding was transformed into a versatile space for two creative clients, serving as both an artist’s studio and a guest room.
Situated in the picturesque village of Abbots Leigh, on the outskirts of Bristol, we took a sustainable approach by reusing the original brick walls. To preserve floor space, we applied external insulation and black steel cladding.
A new roof structure made of Douglas fir was added to enhance the ceiling height, with the same design extended as an outdoor canopy to provide a dedicated space for a messy workshop.
